Have had fish and chips a few times from here and while the food is decent the service is poor. Staff always seem to get orders wrong. I went in 15 minutes before closing and was refused service. No other takeaway/restaurant or shop I'm aware of would avoid serving customers just because the staff want to clean up quicker.

This fish and chip shop has been a staple to the area for many years and it will always be the best in the North East in my opinion. The food options are large and the food tastes delicious. The owners and staff always provide the best service. 10/10.

Decided to try here as usual one I used has gone downhill dramatically.
Got to say the food has been great, fish cooked to order and portions are ample. Great service and ladies serving are welcoming and chatty. They do a loyalty card also, which is a bonus if you use it regularly.
The only downside is it is pretty cold in there when waiting for your order.

This used to be our go to chippy. Went tonight and they cooked fresh chips, after my first bite it was clear they didn’t cook them fully, this isn’t the first time this has happened. They have changed their burgers and I’m not sure if they are even beef but they are rank. The cod bites have suffered the biggest shrinkflation whilst the price has increased.

The staff are lovely and I can’t fault them, this review is purely based on the quality or lack there of the food.

Please improve as we used to love this chippy.

First visit here this week - I'll definitely be back!

Cod was really fresh & had loads of taste. Chips were a lovely, properly cooked, nice & brown (not sad & pale like other places).

OAP portion for my mum who especially liked the mushy peas!
