I have been going here for quite a few years. The staff always makes you feel well. Felix and Melanie have always been great at helping get just the right frame fit and also the perfect lenses. They make sure we get the best deal with our insurance plan. Felix thanks for the suggestion on the computer lenses. Made studying was easier. Melanie thanks for always helping get full use of our insurance. Appreciate the entire staff for making us feel so welcome.

Recently relocated to Arizona from another state so I was looking for a place here to get established. I saw Dr. Pyle and was very pleased! All the staff I encountered at Estrella Mountain Eyecare were great! They did a comprehensive eye exam, took the time to explain the happenings/ Photos taken, etc. which was very much appreciated. After my exam, Felix was a big help in getting new lenses ordered for my frames and helping me get on my way. Only suggestion I would have is to let first time guests know a broad time range to expect to be there. I wasn’t expecting dilation nor to be there for an hour and a half, definitely understand why and totally OK with it now, but would have been nice to get a heads up prior.

I have been here for almost 3 years. They're alright, overall. Mostly good experiences, but had a poor one with one employee once. (They tried to cancel my appt, because they did not have the correct information for my insurance. I had already checked with my insurance and read it from their website. Once i informed her of this she hung up on me.)They do charge each patient a $39 retinol image fee that most insurances don't cover. They have newer equipment and most insurances haven't caught up with the technology yet, is what I was told. No bathrooms in the office. You have to leave and go for a walk to another part of the building.

Love this office. Super attentive and helped me find my perfect frames. I am so picky so god bless the team for their patience! I had Melanie looking around all over the store for a specific shape — she found THE pair within my price range. I really appreciated her honesty. Some frames were just not it for me, and she wasn’t just trying to sell me on them. She really provided great feedback on shape and colors. I tried on like 20 pairs. So glad she was able to find something I loved.

I came in with a mild eye injury and when I called for an appointment this morning. They talked to the doctor and got me right in. The staff is great and doctor Pyle-Smith was great And took gocd are of me. I appreciate each and every one of you, especially Dr. Pyle-Smith! I have been coming here for years and we'll continue to do so!!

The office staff is very friendly however I’m a bit annoyed that this business is called Estrella mountain and they’re located in Avondale. Otherwise, I would’ve never booked for this office.

My first appointment with the optician, I told him my concern of having a dry eye and he didn’t even look into my eyes just told me that I’ll be fine because we live in Arizona and everyone gets dry eyes. Going over the photos of my eyes, my eyelashes got in the way and I’m not sure why I was never asked to retake them because if my eyelashes are in the way, how are you gonna be looking into my eyes properly?

Follow up on my eyes and the doctor was able to look into my eyes this time and actually pulled something out of my eye and now all of my dry eye issue is gone. The doctor kept stating it wasn’t there the last time, but it clearly was because once again my symptoms are gone.

I explicitly stated I wanted black prescription glasses and they came in brown.

Again, the staff is very friendly, but it seems like you have to be on top of what the process is because they will not let you know to come in for an adjustment for your glasses frames, And they don’t seem to pay attention to the concerns that you have for my eye, and I stated three separate times that I would want to order my glasses in black.

And if you have a calling issue, they will try to tell you that you have to speak to the person that helped you and to call back another time which is unprofessional. They will also question and badger you 1 million times to get your ‘story straight’ because somehow it has to be the patient’s issue for their mistake. Thank you to Bill for helping me.

Doctor is great and so was the lady that did the fitting and helped me pick the right frames. What I’m not happy about is the scheduling, it took a long time to get scheduled in for an eye exam and I’m not able to schedule in an appointment when it’s convenient for me so I can pick up my glasses and get them fitted.
